Indian timber show proves a success

The first wood trade show to be held in India’s capital, New Delhi, has been reported as a big success by those involved and the firms who exhibited, with large numbers of exhibitors and attendees from all over the world.
The show was held in New Delhi between 14 and 17 February and attracted 297 exhibitors and 13,378 visitors. According to reports from PDA Trade Fairs, which organised the event, 63% of the exhibitors were from outside India, showing that India, “is where the market is in times of economic adversity,” says PDA’s Predeep Davaiah.
The international exhibitors included companies from the wood working machinery industry, the timber industry, the sheet materials industry, the engineered wood industry and the fittings and accessories industries. These exhibitors were from countries including, Taiwan, Turkey, Italy, Malaysia, the US, China and Germany.
The show attracted high profile, international sponsorship from organizations including: the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers Associations, the American Hardwood Export Council, Eumabois, German engineering federation VDMA, the Italian wood machinery association ACIMALL, the Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA) and the Taiwanese Woodworking Machinery Association TWMA.
